To stand up for ALL students, including immigrants.

In light of inappropriate and cruel comments from PCSSD board member Wendy Potter about ICE,  which were in violation of the code of ethics of the PCSSD,  board member Wendy Potter should be reprimanded.
Further, the district should develop a policy to support students who are immigrants or whose family members may be immigrants. These students have a right to public education without fear of deportation.  Students who are not immigrants also have the right to not have their education disrupted by ICE raids.
The district should place signs on school campuses and should make sure all staff ( and board members) know the policy and behave accordingly.   Staff should know steps to take in case of an ICE raid.

Why is this important?

Again, all students have a right to a free, safe, equitable public education .   Students cannot learn if they are afraid, and they certainly cannot learn if they are kept home from school out of fear of deportation.    It is important for our students that are immigrants , but also important that ALL students know that they are safe at school and that their school district will stand up for them.
