Montgomery County Commissioners, pass the Fund Our Schools Resolution!

We, the undersigned residents of Clarksville-Montgomery County, respectfully urge our County Commission members to adopt the Fund Our Schools resolution. This resolution calls for an end to voucher and privatization schemes that divert essential funding away from our public schools.
We firmly believe that robust public schools are the cornerstone of strong communities. Governor Lee’s proposed voucher scheme threatens to redirect millions of dollars into private school systems, undermining the financial stability of our local schools and communities. Despite significant opposition, including resolutions passed by over 70 school boards last year against the Education Freedom Scholarship Act, Governor Lee and wealthy interests continue to push for these vouchers.

Despite significant opposition, including resolutions passed by over 70 school boards last year against the Education Freedom Scholarship Act, Governor Lee and wealthy interests continue to push for these vouchers.
We call upon our local funding bodies to support our public-school districts and reject Governor Lee’s voucher proposal. By passing the Fund Our Schools Resolution, our local leaders will demonstrate that the residents of our school districts overwhelmingly support fully funded public schools and are committed to resisting privatization efforts that jeopardize them.
Together, we can highlight the genuine funding needs of our districts and stand against the billionaire interests attempting to dismantle our public education system.
Why is this important?
The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) board and the Clarksville City Council have already passed similar resolutions. It is now imperative for Montgomery County to join this crucial effort.
