Workers March and Rally at the County Budget Hearing

Public school workers and community members are invited to march on the Board of County Commissioners to demand local funding for public school staff pay increases. 

Participants should meet at the GCAE Office at 4:15 to park and gather for a march to the Old Guilford County Courthouse. Participants are encouraged to wear red or represent your organization. During the march, participants will be carrying flowers that will be added to a display at the courthouse. Extra flowers welcome! Upon arrival at the courthouse, we will hold a rally to push the Board of County Commissioners to fund the Board of Education’s budget request. GCAE members will deliver handwritten letters from workers and community members to the Board of County Commissioners.

Rally Plan:

4:15 PM - Meet and park at GCAE Office for a march to the Old Guilford County Courthouse. (0.5 miles)

4:45 PM - Rally in front of the Old Guilford County Courthouse (301 West Market Street)

5:25 PM - Enter the courthouse for the Board of County Commissioners Budget Public Hearing.

5:30 PM - BOCC Meeting begins
