Stone Mountain Teach Truth Discussion and Walk

Learn and discuss the silenced stories about Stone Mountain, the largest Confederate Monument in the world, and Shermantown, the historically Black community adjacent to it.

Hosted by the Stone Mountain Action Coalition.

Stone Mountain is a symbol of silenced stories and the promotion of false truths.

The Lost Cause still reigns supreme is some groups that hold legislative power in Georgia. They try to censor teaching about broken treaties, convict leasing, interracial labor organizing, Black resistance, massive white resistance to Brown v. Board, and enslaved prison labor.

This event is part of the 5th annual Teach Truth Day of Action, hosted by the Zinn Education Project in collaboration with 80+ cosponsors.
