RPS Superintendent Jason Kamras has proposed additional budget cuts for the 2026–2027 school year that will have a significant impact on students, educators, and staff. Among the proposed reductions are:

RPS Superintendent Jason Kamras has proposed additional budget cuts for the 2026–2027 school year that will have a significant impact on students, educators, and staff. Among the proposed reductions are:
- Elimination of all annual substitute positions
- Elimination of 15 teacher vacancies, resulting in larger class sizes
- A 10% reduction in student mental health services
- Reductions to summer school programming
- Additional proposed cuts affecting positions, employee health insurance, and the collective bargaining agreement
In light of these proposed cuts, we continue to call on the School Board to authorize a forensic audit to fully examine RPS's financial management and provide transparency regarding the district's fiscal decisions.
