Make the Call for Public Schools!

This Monday at 6pm we'll be reaching out to voters who have a question on their March 17th primary ballot about the federal voucher program, teaming up with Illinois Federation of Teachers for a virtual phonebank, "Make the Call for Public Schools!"

As you may know, about 10% of Illinois voters have a non-binding ballot measure asking whether Illinois should opt in to the harmful new federal voucher program. 

The wording of that ballot question is very misleading. It doesn’t mention vouchers, and it says that the program involves “privately-donated funds”—not public tax dollars. Yikes! 

So, we’re calling voters to let them know that if they, like us, believe that public funds are for public schools, they should vote NO on vouchers for Illinois!

We'll provide a quick training over Zoom at 6pm with everything you need to have successful conversations on this important issue. And we'll raffle off a fun RAYGUN shirt at the end of the night, so a lucky caller can rep their support for public schools!
