Kern County BOE Improvement Coalition (KBIC) Planning Meeting

Please join us for the next Kern County BOE Improvement Coalition (KBIC) Planning Meeting on Friday, August 8 at 5:00 PM on Zoom. This meeting is a key moment for us to prepare for the upcoming County Board of Education meeting and ensure our community shows up informed, organized, and ready to act.

We’ll review the August County Board agenda and July minutes, including a harmful anti-trans Title IX resolution brought forward by Trustee Cisneros, a resolution on sufficient instructional materials, and a powerful letter from Lori Braschler and the response it received. We’ll also discuss recent federal education cuts, begin planning for the 2026 school board elections, review potential candidates, and begin preparations for our upcoming KBIC retreat. Additional agenda items include safety plan updates, volunteer roles, and videography support for upcoming board meeting.

We’ll also assign roles for our August 14 Debrief Meeting, so please come ready to plug in where you can.
